Honoring individuals who volunteer their time and talents

The Phillip J. Samblanet Service Award honors individuals who volunteer their time and talents in meaningful ways reflecting the commitment Phil showed over 25+ years as Executive Director of TMS.

The Phillip J. Samblanet Service Award honors individuals who volunteer their time, expertise, and talents in ways that meaningfully advance the mission and community of TMS. This recognition celebrates the spirit of dedication and service exemplified by Phil Samblanet during his more than 25 years as Executive Director of TMS.

Individuals may receive the TMS Service Award multiple times, provided that each recognition is based on distinct and independent contributions that have not been previously honored.

Deadline

Nominations must be submitted no later than June 30th for consideration at the following Annual Meeting.

The award is open to both TMS members and nonmembers who have made meaningful contributions to TMS.

Honorees are selected by the TMS Awards Committee based on recommendations from TMS members and the Executive Director, in accordance with the criteria outlined below. Up to three recipients may be recognized each year.

Nominations and evaluation of those nominations shall be based on the following non-inclusive considerations:

  • for those individuals who provide distinguished volunteer services to advance the mission and goals of the Society
  • for those individuals who render services unseen by others
  • for activities that have not been formally recognized by the Society through other awards or recognitions
  • for those individuals who provide service that is not associated with a prominent position within the Society
  • for those individuals who are members or non-members of TMS
