Honorary Membership

Honoring excellence, leadership, and a lifetime of advancing masonry

Honorary Membership is the highest distinction conferred by The Masonry Society. It recognizes individuals who have achieved eminence in masonry research, design, or construction, and whose contributions have advanced the profession and strengthened the TMS community. Those honored share a common belief in the vital role of TMS within the masonry industry and are dedicated advocates for masonry as a versatile and enduring structural material.

Recipients of this distinction are entitled to use the designation HTMS, signifying their status as an Honorary Member of The Masonry Society.

Nomination Procedure & Requirements

Only a TMS member may nominate an individual for honorary membership. Nominations may be submitted at any time, although nominations are typically considered during the early spring of each year so that the awards can be adequately considered at the Spring Meetings of TMS.

Nominations should be submitted to the Executive Director, who forwards the nomination to the President and the Immediate Past-President. If approved, the nomination is submitted to the Board of Directors who must unanimously approve the nomination.
